The farming at Rowanwood is underway and growing. We are currently concentrating on Hidcote Lavender, Rowan Trees, Curly Willow and Black Walnut trees for their many uses. Our farm cart is currently stocked with lavender on offer. We invite you to come and take a look!

  • Hidcote Lavender

    Lavender.

    Hidcote is an english lavender. native to the Mediterranean, it is the hardiest of the English cultivars. A true lavender that has been cultivated for its oil and dried flowers. Hidcote Lavender is well suited to use in potpourri, dried flower arrangements, essential oil production, perfume, sachets and even in culinary applications. English Lavender is commonly used in baked goods, summer drinks, and specialty dessert syrups. The lavender at Rowanwood is all natural and no pesticides are used.

  • Rowan Trees.

    The Rowan tree has a long, sacred history. Since ancient times people have been planting a Rowan beside their home as in Celtic mythology it’s known as the Tree of Life and symbolises courage, wisdom and protection.

    The orange-red fruits also provide a feast for many different birds. The berries provide a very welcome source of energy. Birds play a key role in spreading Rowan.
