Code of Conduct

At the Rowanwood Spiritual Centre, we operate under a Code of Conduct that is applicable to all individuals at all times.

Our Spiritual Centre was developed using metaphysical philosophies and inclusion. Therefore, we respect every person as an individual with individual ethics and morals. However, when those individual ethics and/or morals come into conflict with the Rowanwood Spiritual Centre Code of Conduct, the Code of Conduct will take precedence.

The Code of Conduct applies to all who are a part of the RSC including the presenters, instructors and facilitators, and all guests and participants who are present at any event sponsored or held by the RSC, no matter the physical location. The Code of Conduct also applies to all of us who interact with the land that supports us, the beings that may be present, and the facilities and services that are offered.

1. Respect.

All individuals are expected to act and speak in ways that are respectful. As each of us have our individual experiences, cultures, spiritual paths, traditions, biases and prejudices, we are a magnificently diverse group. We acknowledge that we won’t always agree or have the same opinions as those around us.

Respectful disagreement that results in engaging and sharing of new ideas, concepts, teachings and other ways that inform are encouraged. Conversation that devolves into being disrespectful, belligerent, or bullying will not be tolerated.

2. Integrity:

One of the founding concepts of the Rowanwood Spiritual Centre is integrity. Integrity is the quality of being honest, and interacting with others in an honourable and respectful way. It is holding to our values and principles, those qualities that bring out the best of our individual humanity. All of us at the RSC interact with integrity and we expect the same of all guests and participants.

3. Privacy:

While we live in a world in which it seems privacy has become a thing of the past, the Rowanwood Spiritual Centre holds privacy and confidentiality as priorities.

4. Photographs or Videos:

We ask all guests and participants who come to the Rowanwood Spiritual Centre to refrain from taking photographs or videos unless you have the express permission of ALL who would be in the picture/video.

5. Confidentiality:

We gather to learn, to have fun, and to have discussions and conversations that we may not be comfortable holding elsewhere. Please remember this when you speak about your time with us to those who were not in attendance.

6. Social Courtesy:

Here at the Rowanwood Spiritual Centre, through our commitment to Respect and Integrity, we welcome all who want to participate and learn.

Through the speakers and events that we hold or sponsor, we are encouraging people to expose themselves to new ideas, to listen to other voices than their own, and to let their mind play with new notions.

Let us learn from each other. Let us ask questions with the intent to gain new or different understandings and ideas.

If we gather with an open heart, an inquisitive mind, and have the intent to experience different and diverse conversations and interactions, we will enrich ourselves.

Throughout all of this, please remember simple manners and social courtesies.
